Who can order an certificate/e-identification?

Swedish organization number required

All organizations (legal entities) that have a Swedish organization number can order certificates/e-identifications. This includes: private companies, economic associations, non-profit associations, foundations, sole proprietorships, and public bodies. Foreign organizations can apply for a Swedish organization number from the Swedish Tax Agency.

Authorized signatory

All orders must also be signed by an authorized person who grants the orderer permission to carry out the order on behalf of the organization. For private Swedish companies, the order must be signed by a company signatory. For foreign companies, federations, associations, municipalities, authorities, and state-owned companies, the order must be signed by a person in a senior management position. This person must have the authority to enter into legally binding commitments for the organization. In order for Expisoft to assess whether the authorized person has signed the order, the following is required:

  • For organizations registered at Bolagsverket, the person or persons listed in the articles of association as signatories must sign the order. If the organization is newly established and has not yet been registered with the Swedish Companies Registration Office, minutes from the constitutive meeting or similar must be attached to the order to confirm the signatory’s authority.
  • For municipalities, counties, authorities, and state-owned companies, a person in a senior management position within the organization must sign the order. The person's position must be verifiable through public sources.
  • Sole proprietorships must be registered at Bolagsverket, or a copy of the F-tax slip must be attached to the order.
  • If the organization has begun and has not yet been registered with the Swedish Companies Registration Office, the minutes of the statutory meeting, etc. attached to the order to confirm the competency of the company signatory.
  • Foundations and non-profit associations must attach a document that verifies the details of the authorized signatory, such as a certified copy of the registration certificate or a certified excerpt from the minutes.
